Advisory from people who still write code.

Cloud, data, and AI consulting that ends in working systems, not 80-slide decks. We embed with your team for weeks rather than quarters, and leave the documentation behind.

Our practices

Deep in a handful of areas. Honest about the rest.

Cloud Modernization

From lift-and-shift to cloud-native. Refactoring monoliths, untangling network spaghetti, and right-sizing the bill before it owns you.

Data Platform

From spreadsheets to a warehouse, from a warehouse to a lakehouse. Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, Airflow. Practical stacks, not religious ones.

AI Integration

LLM apps that return real value. Retrieval pipelines, evaluation harnesses, guardrails, and the unglamorous plumbing nobody markets.

Platform Engineering

Internal developer platforms, golden paths, paved roads. So your product engineers stop reinventing the same wheel each quarter.

Architecture Review

A two-week deep audit that ends with prioritized findings, a sequence of fixes, and the trade-offs written down plainly.

Cloud Cost Optimization

Most clients see 25 to 40 percent savings in the first 90 days. We negotiate, refactor, and instrument. Not just reshuffle a spreadsheet.

Engagement types

Short. Sharp. Accountable.

Discovery Sprint

2 weeks

A focused audit of one system or initiative. Written findings, prioritized roadmap, ballpark estimates.

Embedded Squad

2 to 6 months

A small pod (architect plus two or three engineers) embedded with your team to ship a specific outcome on a hard deadline.

Fractional CTO

Ongoing

Senior technology leadership one to two days a week. For boards, founders, or PE-backed teams between full-time CTO hires.

Outcomes

What "good" looks like at the end of a quarter.

38% lower AWS bill

For a 50-engineer logistics startup. Through right-sizing, savings plans, and replatforming a hot path off Lambda.

10× faster pipeline

Data pipeline rebuild for a fintech analytics team. From overnight batches to under 12 minutes end-to-end.

Zero-downtime migration

Moved a healthcare SaaS off a legacy SQL Server cluster to managed Postgres in three weekends, with no customer impact.

How we engage

Diagnose first. Recommend second. Build third.

1

Listen & scope

One hour of problem framing. We leave with a clear question, not a vague brief.

2

Diagnose

Read the code, dashboards, on-call notes. Interview engineers. Map the actual system rather than the architecture diagram.

3

Recommend

A written plan with trade-offs, sequencing, and what we'd do if it were our system.

4

Build & hand off

Ship the change with your team. Document the new shape. Stay reachable after the engagement closes.

FAQs

Things we get asked on first calls.

No. Every engagement defines a handoff up front. We document, train your engineers, and leave the keys with you.

All consulting work is delivered by US-based practitioners on our team. Where global coverage is helpful, we'll be explicit about who is doing what before you sign.

We'll tell you. It happens. A short intake call is free. If the answer is "you already have what you need, here's the order of operations," we'll send that and move on.

For well-scoped engagements (audits, discovery sprints, migrations with clear success criteria), yes. For open-ended work, T&M with a not-to-exceed ceiling is fairer to both sides.

Standard practice. Send yours or use ours. Same-day turnaround.

Have a system that needs a second pair of eyes?

A 30-minute call, an honest read, and we'll tell you whether we're the right fit.
